Certification Program Agreement
The terms that govern registering for, sitting, and earning an Empire Cybersecurity certification.
1. Introduction & Acceptance
This Certification Program Agreement (the "Agreement") governs your participation in the Empire Cybersecurity Credential program: registering for an exam, booking a sitting, taking the exam under proctoring, and earning a credential. By registering for or booking an exam you accept this Agreement and the Candidate Code of Conduct.
This Agreement is read together with the Terms of Use and the Privacy Policy. Where a conflict exists on exam-specific matters, this Agreement and the Code of Conduct control.
2. Eligibility & Identity Verification
You must be at least 18 years old and complete identity verification before your exam is released. You agree to provide accurate registration details and to present a valid, current government-issued photo identification for verification.
- The name on your identification must match your candidate profile
- Expired identification is not accepted
- You consent to automated and manual review of your identification and admission captures
- Providing false identity information voids your registration and any result
3. Proctoring & Surveillance
Empire Cybersecurity exams are proctored and recorded. You consent to webcam recording, screen recording, periodic image capture, and automated and human proctoring for the full duration of each sitting. Recording is mandatory and continuous, and your exam content is only released once the system confirms recording is active.
Disabling your camera or screen does not pause the exam
If recording stops, you will be prompted to re-enable your camera and screen sharing before you can continue, and the exam clock keeps running while you do. Interruptions that you cause do not pause your exam or add time. Only a failure confirmed to be on our side may result in a pause or additional time, at our discretion. Repeated or deliberate interruptions are recorded and may be treated as an integrity concern.
4. Data Collection, Retention & Privacy
To deliver a proctored exam we collect identity documents, admission captures, webcam and screen recordings, and session activity. This data is processed for identity assurance, exam integrity, forensic review, and credential issuance, and is stored securely and retained for the period described in the Privacy Policy.
You may request access to or deletion of your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy. Retention of integrity evidence may be extended where a review, dispute, or investigation is open.
5. Exam Integrity & Forensic Review
Every sitting is monitored for integrity. Where our systems or a proctor detect a significant concern, your result is held for forensic review before it is released, and no credential is issued until the review completes. This protects the value of the credential for every holder.
How a held review works
- If your result is held, you will see a notice after your exam and receive an email. We do not issue a provisional pass or a credential that could later be withdrawn.
- Review is completed within a maximum of 48 hours in the ordinary course.
- If we need clarification, we will contact you and give you at least 48 hours to respond before any final decision.
- If the review is inconclusive, it is resolved in your favor and your result is released.
- You lose a result or credential only on an actual, substantiated finding, never merely because a review could not reach a conclusion.
Outcomes of a review are: cleared (your result is released and, on a pass, your credential is issued); or upheld (your result is voided and, where applicable, the credential is denied or revoked, with the consequences in the Candidate Code of Conduct).
6. Results, Credentials & Revocation
Results are determined by our scoring, which is authoritative. On a clear pass, your credential is issued and can be verified through its public verification page. Credentials remain the property of Empire Cybersecurity LLC and are licensed to you for legitimate representation of your achievement.
Revocation: we may void a result, or deny or revoke a credential, at any time, including after issuance, if evidence of a violation, identity fraud, or exam-content compromise later comes to light. Revoked credentials are recorded as no longer valid on their verification page.
You must not misrepresent a credential you do not hold, alter a credential, or continue to claim a credential that has been revoked or has expired.
7. Scheduling, Rescheduling & Fees
Each exam voucher grants a defined number of attempts within a validity window, subject to a cooldown between attempts. You may reschedule a booked sitting within the limits shown at booking. Missing a sitting without a permitted reschedule may consume the attempt.
Exam and program fees are non-refundable, consistent with the no-refund policy in the Terms of Use. Fees are also forfeited where a result is voided for a substantiated integrity violation.
8. Program Changes & Governing Law
We may update this Agreement and the certification program from time to time. Material changes will be posted here and, where appropriate, notified to you. Your continued participation after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
Governing Law
This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes are resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming.
